In the Shpagin submachine gun (PPSh) mod. 1941, the use of the recoil buffer was originally assumed by the design. At the very beginning of their use, they were fiber bumpers, and when the fiber of the required thickness could not be obtained, in factories they tried to use rubber, felt or pressed leather for the production of buffers. Such PPSh dampers, as a rule, did not serve for long and the soldiers had to make replacements for them from improvised means. For example, cut from an old boot sole or cast from “raw rubber”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the short service life of the PPSh fiber shutter buffers, textolite ones came later to replace them. They differed not only in the material of manufacture, but also in shape and size. Now, in the 21st century, with the development of technology, the choice of materials has become much wider and we offer our own version of polyurethane bumpers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green buffers are harder (80 Shore). Orange ones are softer (72 Shore). We usually recommend taking a pair of different hardness and choosing one that feels more comfortable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Why use a buffer in PPSh-41?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The shutter recoil buffer is designed to extend the service life of the moving parts of the bolt group mechanism. It absorbs a significant part of the recoil energy of the shutter, which means such buffer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prevents breakage of the receiver and increases the resource and efficiency of the weapon.<\/li>
Softens the effect of recoil on the shooter and improves the accuracy of fire.<\/li>
There is also a perception that the recoil buffer affects the rate of fire. However, the rate of fire is more influenced by the rigidity of the return spring, the quality of the cartridges and the barrel.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Advantages of PPSh polyurethane dampers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
